We respect your privacy. This policy explains how J.B. Carpentry uses personal information when you visit our website or contact us about a project.
Who we are
J.B. Carpentry is responsible for the personal information collected through this website. You can contact us at j.b.carpentry@icloud.com or on 07432 060260 about your information or this policy.
Information we collect
When you use our enquiry form, we collect your name, email address, project description and telephone number if you choose to provide it. We also receive any information you choose to send us by email or provide by telephone. Please include only the information needed to discuss your project.
Our hosting and form provider, Netlify, may process technical information such as your IP address, browser details and request logs to deliver the website, protect it from misuse and filter spam.
How we use your information
We use your details to respond to enquiries, discuss your requirements, prepare quotations and communicate about work you ask us to carry out. Where you ask us to take steps towards a contract, we process the information for that purpose. For other enquiries and the security of our website, we rely on our legitimate interests in communicating with customers and running our business, taking your rights into account.
We do not use this form to sign you up to marketing messages, and we do not sell your personal information.
Service providers and sharing
Netlify hosts this website and processes form submissions on our behalf. Our email provider, Apple iCloud, processes correspondence sent to our email address, including any enquiry notifications we receive. We share information only where needed to handle your enquiry, provide a service you request or meet a legal obligation.
These providers may process information outside the United Kingdom. Their arrangements for international transfers and data protection are described in the Netlify Privacy Statement and Apple Privacy Policy.
How long we keep information
We keep enquiry information for as long as needed to respond to your request and deal with any related follow-up. If an enquiry leads to work, we keep relevant records for as long as needed to manage that work and meet accounting, legal or dispute-related requirements. When information is no longer needed, we delete it or remove identifying details.
Cookies and browser storage
We do not use advertising cookies or analytics trackers. The website can follow your device’s light or dark appearance, and you can change it using the appearance button.
When you choose a light or dark appearance, we use session storage to keep that choice as you move between pages in the same browser tab. This lets the appearance you request continue during your visit. If you choose “Remember preferences”, we also use local storage to remember your appearance for future visits. “Continue without” keeps your chosen appearance for this tab without saving it for future visits. We store your privacy choice for up to six months so we can respect it and avoid repeatedly asking you. These preferences stay on your device and are not sent to us.
You can use “Cookie preferences” in the footer to change your choice at any time. Continuing without removes the appearance saved for future visits. You can change the appearance using the button, close the tab to end its session, or clear stored information in your browser settings. If browser storage is unavailable, the website and its appearance button still work, but your choice may not carry over to another page.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you can ask to access, correct or erase your personal information, restrict its use, object to processing based on legitimate interests, or receive information in a portable format. Contact us using the details above to make a request.
If you are concerned about how we handle your information, please contact us. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office.
Other websites
Our Facebook link takes you to Facebook. That service has its own privacy arrangements. We do not load a Facebook feed or tracking tools on this website.
Changes to this policy
We will update this policy if the way we handle information changes. This policy was last updated on 8 September 2026.
